It’s Monday again, so time for Week in Review with Meghan!

School ended this week, which meant the kickoff of the Harkins Summer Movie Fun. I’m always looking for cheap ways to keep the kids cool and entertained during the summer, so this was a must-do for us. Bonus — this year the hubby actually has off on the days we go, so I don’t have to wrangle the boys by myself! This week was Mr. Popper’s Penguins, which Jonah hated, I was meh about, and Kins and Micah seemed to enjoy. Overall I think it was a bit adult for a kid series, but if the kids are happy I’m happy. ๐Ÿ™‚

This was our short weekend with Kinsey, and after she left I took the boys to their cousin’s birthday party. Jonah kept pulling the balloons down and playing with them, and while it was super annoying to have to chase him and re-hang the balloons it was still super cute to watch him. He’s completely obsessed with balloons lately!

So is his brother lol….

And for the record I was actively hanging the laundry, it doesn’t normally hang out in my loft like that. ๐Ÿ˜› Kinsey hung/folded most of her own laundry this weekend and Micah helped me hang his (he actually got 5 or 6 shirts on the hangars by himself)! We are fast approaching the day when I can just dump everyone’s laundry on their bed and they can hang it themselves (cue happy tears!).

The hubby had a bunch of training this weekend so the boys were super clingy — they always are when Danny has to work a lot. This meant crawling into my bed the minute they heard him leave and going back to sleep — but what’s extra adorable is that when I got up they cuddled with each other…

…and then did it again last night. They fell asleep early and crawled into my bed before I could, and this is what I found. I carried them to their room, but of course they came back in the middle of the night — have I mentioned I need a bigger bed? ๐Ÿ˜›

My workouts have really been on point again this week. (Forgive the darkness, Jonah was asleep in the loft so I didn’t want to turn on the light and risk waking him up). I’ve been trying to balance between Crossfit and Beachbody — partially because I paid for the year of Beachbody on Demand so I should use it, and partially because the boys get burned out on gym daycare if I take them too often. The days when Micah doesn’t sleep well he has terrible separation anxiety, so I try to avoid the gym on those days if possible. I definitely push myself harder when people are watching though, which is part of why I like the gym so much.

Strike has become one of my favorite classes at the gym. I love lifting and pushing myself, but there’s something deeply satisfying about hitting something as hard as you can repeatedly lol. I was a little hesitant to post this because I’m still pretty far from my ultimate goal, but I’m trying to learn to be proud of my progress instead of beating myself up for not getting there faster. I’ve definitely tightened up my diet and workouts the last month, so I know the progress will come as I stay consistent.

I’ll be hitting the gym tonight but I’m feeling a Core de Force workout this morning anyway. I just started it yesterday but I can already tell I’m going to like it at least as much as Insanity — although now that I’ve been hitting actual targets, punching an imaginary one isn’t quite as fun anymore. ๐Ÿ˜›

What are you proud of accomplishing this week?

Do you like to vary the type of workout you do, or do you stick to variations of the same thing?
