Linking up with Naomi and Faith!
I absolutely love this picture! My parents are always sending me funny socks because I’ve mismatched my socks since middle school, and Micah decided they were all his. I love the face he’s making, he just cracks me up!
Micah started soccer two weeks ago, and this was his first practice. He listens to this coach a little better than his t-ball coach, but he still runs off a LOT during practice and games. I just want him to have fun and meet new people for now since he’s only 3, but I’m not going to lie, it would be kind of awesome if he also got a little better at following directions. Side note — doesn’t he have the BEST expressions?!
I’m also really enjoying being able to walk during the day again — Arizona winters are AMAZING! The summers are completely awful, but winters really make it worth it. Jonah loves riding on my back, and the extra 30 pounds takes my intensity up a notch. 😛
I think I’ve said this before, but the fact that when they really need (but are refusing to take) naps they’ll generally fall asleep on a short drive or walk is an absolute lifesaver. They both hate sleeping for some crazy reason, and this works sooo much better than having to fight with them to stay in bed. I can’t believe how big Micah is getting, even though he’s sleeping he looks so grown up in this picture!
We managed a low-key but fun birthday for Kinsey, and she’s super excited that part of her present was a girls night out at a show for us! She’s a little fashionista, so her grandparents always send adorable outfits and she totally eats it up. Can’t believe she’s 7 already, it feels like I was buying her cute toddler outfits just a few months ago…
This one is pretty random, but Jonah has become obsessed with hats. This is Kinsey’s hat from farmer day at school, but if Jonah has his way she’ll never get it back. He’s kind of obsessed with hats for some reason, and he gets mad when he can’t have ALL the hats! 😛
Somehow, even though Spirit won’t go near Jonah while he’s awake, she won’t leave his side while he’s sleeping. Jonah tries really hard to be sweet to them and give them lots of hugs and kisses, so it’s nice to see that she understands his intent even if she has no patience for rough hugs and wet kisses.
This is probably what I’m most proud of this week. I’m in charge of yard work, and I’d REALLY let the front yard get out of control. That tree drops leaves by the ton, so between that, tree sprouts, weeds, and the tree being overgrown, it’s not really a surprise that my HOA left us a little love note telling me to get off my hiney and fix it. We got busy and I left it to the last-minute, but I still managed to finish before 7am on the day they said they were coming to check it out. Now I just need to keep it maintained and fix the backyard so the boys can play somewhere besides the patio.
Unfortunately, the boys have been sick for a few days now (hence the seriously late Monday post), so I’ve basically spent the entire last 3 days holding and cuddling them. They both have a nasty cough so they aren’t sleeping well, so I’ve been napping instead of working out whenever they actually fall asleep for more than 5 minutes. I’m just hoping the steroids work fast so we can all get some sleep — the last thing I want is for the rest of us to get sick, especially right before the holiday.
Since I’m typing with Jonah curled up on my chest, I’m going to call it a night and try to get him into bed. Here’s hoping I can get a few uninterrupted hours of sleep tonight, because I’m seriously behind on dishes and laundry after the last few days and I need to get up before the kids and get moving on that.
What are you proud of accomplishing this week?
