Weekends always seem to be the craziest part of the week, but I wouldn’t give up a single moment of it! We managed to keep things healthy for most meals, including chicken and veggies over quinoa…

….and open-faced tuna sandwiches with onion and avocado on whole wheat bread.

I even got surprised with breakfast while I was working on Friday — best hubby ever!!

With the summer heat getting really unbearable, there was a lot of playing inside…

…tons of cuddles…

…and quite a bit of running around. We finally got our guest room turned into a martial arts studio, and the hubby is super excited to be taking on students again.

After her first lesson, Kinsey was so excited she insisted on teaching Micah how to punch and kick. They had such a blast!

I can’t even being to express how excited I am to get this room up and running. The hubby absolutely loves teaching, and it would be so much nicer to have him home in the evenings instead of working overtime at the prison!

In other news, my sister got married this weekend. Sadly, it just wasn’t possible for us to travel across the country to attend, but I spent Saturday stalking the Facebook pages of everyone in my family and I was just blown away by the pictures. What a gorgeous bride!!

I’m so glad her special day went well, and I’m so happy for her and her new hubby to start enjoying wedded bliss. 🙂

Other random silliness that happened this weekend….

030 028

Stealing Daddy’s belt and trying for over ten minutes to get it to work with elastic suit pants…

…stealing big sister’s cowboy boots (are you sensing a pattern here? We’ve definitely hit the “everything is MINE!” stage)…

…and big sister helping poor, sad Micah play dress up. Of course, the only time when everything doesn’t belong to him is when someone voluntarily shares. 😛

I was also lucky enough to start martial arts lessons with the hubby. I’ve been practicing every day without him, and doing Insanity on the days he isn’t available to teach me.

I also owe you an update on the spring cleaning — that will be coming this week, but I’m excited to say that the kitchen, guest room (now martial arts studio), and living room have all gotten major organizational makeovers, and I’m hoping that my office and the loft (playroom) will be done by tomorrow or Wednesday. Progress might be a little slower than I originally hoped for, but it’s exhilarating to make real progress and I know everything will be done by the time school starts. Have I mentioned yet that I’m super excited?? 🙂

What did you do this weekend?

Do you have any projects you’re trying to finish this summer?
