Monday I had a true moment of insanity and decided that instead of continuing with T25, it was time to start 60 days of Insanity. One week in and my legs, arms, and hiney are starting to vehemently express their discontent with this decision…but T25 was getting boring (I really don’t like it as much as Insanity) and I figured if I’m going to enter a weight loss competition I should go big or go home! My legs are discussing sending Shaun T hate mail though… 😛
My other reason for starting Insanity is that I haven’t been able to jog as much the last week or so because the kids just aren’t tolerating being in the stroller. It’s getting pretty warm here (mid to high 90s during the day), so even when I wait until dusk it’s a pretty sweaty walk for them. Micah didn’t mind at all before getting croup, but now the heat makes his cough worse and he winds up crying most of the walk. I’m hoping that as he gets better we’ll be able to take longer walks again, but for now I need a workout that will kick my butt even if I’m not getting in double workouts every day — and Insanity is far more intense than T25. Sadly, I didn’t quite make my goal for running a cumulative marathon in April, but considering everything that’s happened in April I’m not going to beat myself up. Here is this week’s recap…
Sunday — 0.42 mile walk/jog
Monday — Insanity Fit Test, 2.15 mile walk/jog
Tuesday — Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Wednesday — Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance
Thursday — Insanity Cardio Recovery, 2.08 mile walk/jog
Friday — off
Saturday — Insanity Pure Cardio
Sunday — Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Marathon April Total — 21.4 miles
The running has also helped my upper body strength — pushing these three around for 2 miles at a time is exhausting! 🙂
In other news, this semester is finally finished! I’m hoping that with homework out of my way I can catch up on my spring cleaning schedule (I fell a bit behind during finals week), workout a bit more often, and spend more quality time with the kids (instead of watching them play with my computer in my lap). It’s going to be a productive summer!
What spring cleaning projects are you hoping to get to this year?
