Today my father-in-law decided to take us all to the Arizona Science Center, and the kids had a great time! I overslept majorly, so breakfast was a junior cheeseburger from Wendy’s (not proud of that) and a diet coke. While at the science center I shared some of the snacks the hubby made the kids, which was basically mini Nabisco trail mix — a variety of mini cookies. Also not proud of that, but I wasn’t expecting to spend 4 hours in the science center so I was starving and unprepared — not a great start to the day, but at least that means it can only get better!

My workout today was 4 hours of walking pushing about 35 pounds of kiddos in the double stroller–and sadly that was enough to make me feel pretty sore! There was so much to do at the center, but I think the interactive water exhibit was the favorite. Nothing screams science like splashing in water and throwing little plastic balls at each other!

Of course, a close second was the “Great Balls of Fire” show, but if there’s anything kids like more than splashing in water, it’s probably watching someone play with fire on a stage. I was pleasantly surprised with how much there was for young kids to do — I didn’t expect Micah to be nearly as entertained as he was. They got to learn how to use an ATM…

All in all, it was an exhausting but super fun day for all of us. It was getting late by the time we got close to home, so we grabbed me a grilled chicken salad and the kids some chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A. I don’t know why I love their market salad so much, but it’s just super yummy! I was still pretty hungry afterwards so I had what was leftover from the kids’ coleslaw, and about an hour later I had half a peanut butter sandwich too. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m overweight right now or if it’s the nursing, but I’m constantly STARVING! Hopefully watching my portion sizes will eventually rein in that appetite, but for now I’m just going to worry about making good food choices and working out. Hopefully as I get healthier my body will start to work out the kinks itself…

What exciting things do you have planned for the weekend?
