I can’t think of a time I’ve been more grateful for the arrival of the weekend! I work four tens so today is my Friday, and I reeaaalllly needed this work week to be over. Work has been pretty stressful this week, and I’m so excited to just break away and recharge my batteries — four day weekends are AMAZING.
This has been my new go to work meal when I oversleep and don’t have time to make a real lunch — pretty much every day. I actually got the idea from Caitlin@healthytippingpoint — I keep pre-cooked brown rice in my fridge, and then I just crack open some cans of beans and corn, and top it with some frozen broccoli. Just microwave it at lunchtime and you’ve got a super easy meal with lots of veggies and some protein!
I tried to stay off my foot as much as possible today, and I think there is a little bit of improvement. If I had to venture a guess, I’d say that my cute work shoes aren’t doing my feet any favors, and it may be time to upgrade to something much more supportive and a little less cute. Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to get back to regular workouts tomorrow!
In the meantime, today’s workout for the walking impaired consisted of:
- 50 modified pushups
- 40 tricep dips (on one leg!)
- 3 x one minute modified planks
I feel a little wimpy, but it’s better to let my heel fully recover than to really injure it. My body is definitely not used to being this heavy, and even before the foot pain started I could feel it in my bones and joints that I need to be careful. Excess weight creates such a strain on your body — it’s one of the biggest reasons I’m mad at myself for not having lost at least some of the baby weight in the last 8 months — but that’s just more motivation to keep my diet clean and to keep my workouts going. It’s all worth it!
Just for laughs — this is how I’ve felt since having a baby. Any other moms out there know what I’m talking about?
